IPv4 and IPv6 cannot communicate with each other and even though it seems these two standards will co-exist for a long time the IPv6 traffic in certain parts of the world – foremost in Asia – will soon be the dominating one. In order to secure availability for users of the both protocols it is therefore necessary for authorities, organisations and companies to support both IPv4 and IPv6.
