Kommunal has around 525,000 members, spread across 230 trades, mostly within municipal authorities.
During autumn 2008, Kommunal tested many possible solutions for handling their IT support tickets, and finally chose Artologik HelpDesk, with the complementary modules HD-Advanced and HD-LDAP. HD-Advanced provides additional functions for advanced ticket handling, and HD-LDAP a catalogue service for handling user details.
Initially Kommunal will be using HelpDesk to support hard and software for their users, but a possible future is that member enquiries will be handled by the same system.
